NOTE: 8am START
On November 7th we will be going on our overnighter/Day ride to Hervey Bay.
We are staying at the Kondari Resort on Elizabeth Street. Telephone 07-4125 5477. Please book ASAP
This will be an 8am start for both day riders and overnighters
Route to Hervey Bay
We will first make our way from Gloria’s out through Canungra towards Jimboomba, Springfield
lakes, Amberley, Walloon with our first stop at Fernvale approximately 1.5 hours and 130k’s for coffee and cake.
From Fernvale, we will travel along lake Wivenhoe to lake Somerset. We will ride the length of lake Somerset to Kilcoy and then to Maleny then onto Kenilworth for lunch. This is some great riding; the views are spectacular. Total travel Yme is 2 hours and 140k’s Yme 12pm.
This will be the turnaround place for the day riders.
The overnighters will depart Kenilworth and ride to Gympie we will then take the Tin can Bay road to Wallu where we turn for Maryborough. A leg stretch in Maryborough. From Maryborough it is an easy ride into Hervey bay
arrival should be approximately 4pm. Diner is good in the hotel were attached to. Large double rooms with A/C are available, if you mention the Cruiser Club you should get the room
at a cheaper rate. This includes undercover parking for the bikes. This hotel has a decent restaurant
and bars so we will have dinner there if you want to.
In the morning we have been invited to Terry and Jo’s for Breakfast so if you have any dietary requirements. Good luck.
The return will be much the same except instead of going into Kilcoy, we will go to Woodford, then over Mount Mee on to Dayboro and into Samford. From here we will go through the Gap and down the highway to the Gold Coast. Total distance 400k’s.
As with previous overnighters the Gold Coast Cruiser Club relaxes its Cruisers only rule and provided riding is in the spirit of the club, all styles of motorcycles are welcome.
It’s a great weekend away and I hope you will be able to join me.
