Terry’s Tenterfield Travels – 9 November 2019
After a great breakfast at sweethearts Gloria, we head out on the highway looking for adventure or whatever comes our way. We make our way to Murwillumbah and through to Uki for our first stop at Uki Hotel. This is about an hours ride and 75km. After our pit stop we head up country roads to take me home…oops to Casino via Kyogle along Summerland Way into Casino where we will stop for lunch at the Hotel Cecil.
Before we eat there is a Caltex servo just past the Cecil Hotel where you can fill up if needed before the next run of 130km to Tenterfield. You can drive through the back of the servo and turn right into the Cecil parking area. Bikes filled up – tummies turn.
After lunch we mount up and head south to the Bruxner Highway for about a 2 hour ride to Tenterfield. This part of the ride includes 34 km of twisties – good fun.
Accommodation in Tenterfield has been reserved at the Peter Allen Motor Inn (02) 6736 2499 which is in Rouse Street.
– Queen Room – $105
– King Room – $110
– Twin Room (Queen & Single) – $115
– 2 Bedroom Family Room (one sleeps 4 the other sleeps 5) – $170
We stayed there on our reccy ride and the rooms are clean, comfy and economical.
There is a nice deck area at the front of the motel if we want to have a pre-dinner drink before going to dinner at the Telegraph Hotel. Access to hotel is via a gate at the back of the motel. Meals are tasty value for money with a large menu to choose from. There is not a lot of nightlife in Tenterfield so after dinner we can party at the pub or ??
Breakfast is booked at the Courtyard Cafe a few doors up from the motel. There is also a service station a couple of doors down as well.
After breakfast stands up at 9ish and off to Casino, Lismore, Bangalow then onto the highway where we head for home.
Day Trippers: After lunch at Casino off to Lismore, Bangalow and highway to home.
